Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) is a devastating condition that can lead to permanent injuries and sometimes even death. In the 1970s there was an increase in cases in the United States following the introduction of new tampon lines. Despite the clear connection of illness to the products, germ theory was invoked and bacteria were said to be the “cause”.

In this video we examine the key historical events and what some of the pivotal scientific papers actually revealed. We also consider the long-term repercussions of interfering with both menstruation and the normal function of the vagina. Additionally, new information is presented with regard to the toxicology of so-called feminine sanitary products.

Toxic shock syndrome is another example of the medical establishment claiming that our ubiquitous microbes are also disease-causing “pathogens”. The underlying terrain is ignored and the allopathic system engages in a dangerous war against Nature. This presentation contains essential information for women while men will also discover important facts to understand and share with female family members, particularly those of child-bearing age.

  1. I remember back in 1980 at Uni, in women’s groups, we always referred to TSS as Tampon Shock Syndrome.
It’s hard, as a 20 year post ‘menopausal’ woman to remember what having periods was like… I came across this poem that I wrote back then but find it hard to relate now!!

    ‘Waiting For Blood-O’

Tired, as a child late for bed, though midday.
Unreasoned tears; ‘don’t know why!’ you exclaim.
Snapping at those in close contact.
    Fatally female; presupposed hormonal stack.
Breasts cling to chest like bloated limpets,
Skin erruptions worsened by image fret,
    Retaining water in camel-tummy humps,
    Pig-week extra inches; unstreamlined lumps,
Irrational anger, disturbed slumber and then….

Inner sunshine creeping from it’s dark, womb-den,
Begins to slowly ease the uneasy.
Never was the sight of blood flow so relieving.
    Until the former self-preoccupation turns
To thoughts of man’s distaste; partner spurned.

The adverts tell us stop expression
    With tampons, pads, slimline discretion.
Red conscious leaking, shame-faced revealing, so,
We hide unsightly signs of our menstrual flow!

  2. Dear Sue Marriott
Wow , what a poem you wrote. I am the last person in the world you would think could relate to what you wrote, me being a man in his late 60’s. I had to read it several times it so moved me.
Thank you for posting dear lady. Just when I thought Dr Sam had covered everything there is to cover she comes up with this subject. For me it says she is only beginning. I now realise that.

  3. The elimination pathway of PFAS for pre menopausal women is an amazing superpower! Dare I say, I find myself being a little envious!? 🤔🤷‍♂️😂

Just yesterday, I was researching PFAS and learning how ubiquitous it as become in our environment. The associated risks of PFAS with tampons was quite evident to me.

Despite never given menstrual flow much thought but at the same time considering myself above averagely well informed, I was amazed to discover menstrual cups! I thought this was the bees knees! How, after nearly 35 years of experience would my partner possibly have heard of this brilliant idea (probably invented by a man!?)…

I couldn’t wait to share my new ‘revolutionary knowledge’ with her. She would be amazed and praise my new expanded expertise on this topic that I had no personal experience with…

It’s often said that life has an twisted sense of humour and a tenancy to humble you just when you need it most…

Thanks for expanding my awareness on this sometimes taboo subject Dr Sam!

As per usual, it never seizes to amaze me how you and Mark’s work are always interesting, well researched, referenced and educational. 🙏👐

  4. Thanks, bg2339. My menstruating years and also my menopause were pretty easy (no pain, no hot flushes) contrary to what the poem might denote. So the BIG question is why do some women suffer so much? Everyone considers such things as pain/cramps and hot flushes to be normal. They are not! Something is amiss in the terrain!

  5. This is a general comment.
I have seen that in recent years a new disease or illness is on the rise.
I have coined the name for it as “Net Zero Brain Syndrome”
The symptoms are often that people cannot ascertain reality from fiction.
The main feature is that these people believe that someone or something is responsible for their suffering or inability to act in accordance with their inner being.
The suffering persons believe in the good of the government and that the government should be responsible for all decisions to be made.
The mental derailment that this disease exposes is very dangerous to other people.
    Maybe it is contagious.
It appears that the cognitive ability is paralysed and that the patient cannot absorb new or contradicting information to the government established narrative.
So far, the only panacea observed, is to avoid the government in all aspects.
A cure seems to be, that the patient should return to a life in balance with nature away from dense population areas and avoid or limit any electronic device usage.
I am convinced that your ideas are part of the solution.
    Thank you.

  6. Very informative video, not only on the specific topic, but in the broader picture of health.

  7. After watching this I thought really hard about my monthly menstruation, about 10 years ago I stopped wearing tampons and started using a cup, even though I didn’t notice, thinking back this is when I started experiencing excruciating pain during my bleed which would last 4-5 days ( previously when wearing tampons it would normally be 1 heavy day of bleeding and then a few days with light bleeding) I also experienced swelling in my right ovary that I could feel and I would feel so sore internally from inserting/extracting the cup and for days after stopping my bleed I smelt very bad. I felt generally yucky whilst bleeding and blamed my hormones as I hadn’t even connected the broader consequences of wearing the cup on my body who knows I might even be sensitive to wearing a silicone object internally and stashing my bodily fluids internally as I’m highly sensitive to pretty much everything. So after watching this video and thinking deeply about everything I decided to try without the cup of my next menstruation. The change was instantly obvious, my bleed all came out on day one with none of the usual cramps ,I spotted lightly for a day after and then stopped. I’ve now ordered myself some reusable period panties and pads and will never go back to a cup again. Thank you so much Sam.
